![]() And I urge all of my people of color or compassion of those with melanin, to do the same. I will never go to this restaurant again. We sat down just like everyone else, yet we were ignored. What made us so different?! Let’s cut the bs, the only difference is our skin color! We weren’t mean or anything. we’ve ordered our food with Chloe who has been super helpful, and I notice that every other whites person that has come in, seated at the bar or otherwise, has been greeted with a warm welcome. He explained to me that the server refused to wait on us!!! Huh?!? He asks if we’d like to talk to the manager, Paul, I stated yes, however Paul never came to our table. I call Justin to explain my disappointment and observation. As we’re sitting there, I notice that 3 white oriole came in and was immediately greeted, given water, menus, and bread all within about two minutes. Chloe stops to help us, but I’m still upset because we shouldn’t have had to flag someone down to acknowledge us. At around 630, at this point but even caring about happy hour, just trying to figure out why everyone is passing us. at a high top table, sat there for another five minutes and wasn’t greeted, or anything. sat down, the woman at the bar didn’t say anything to us. ![]() So where do I begin?! I’ve never seen people so opposed to waiting on two black women during happy hour in my life! Firstly, we got there at 624. But 2 out of the 4 of us are from out of town and my brother and sister in law live in Jax but far away. I guess they must be much better normally when they serve their normal menu. The turkey carver was very nice, but the turkey was somewhat tasteless and dry. Seemed like he did not want to be working. All in all other than lovely decor, neat fish shaped flatware, I'd say a C- (very disappointing.) Coffee or ice tea was not included. My sister in law said as long as we're all together and no one has to work (meaning cook and clean) she was happy. My brother was on a diet so he said the salad was fine and the turkey seemed low cal, but if he were not on a diet, he'd have been very upset. the only food I really enjoyed besides the chocolate mousse. Wahtever, it was not identifiable or anything special. Not sure if it was a white chocolate bread pudding or peach cobbler. Actually, there was something that we could not identify. ![]() White chocolate bread pudding was nothing special. Maybe the pecan and pumpkin are not on their regular menu and the mousse is. The pecan pie was also not enjoyed by those in our party who like pecan pie. I guess it must have been cooked ahead and frozen and by 5:00 was not defrosted enough to enjoy. We all agreed that the pumpkin pie was too cold to enjoy. The "lemon caper catch" was cold and a bit dry. Candied yams were way too sweet like for a kid.Cranberry sauce was perfect. In fact the whole buffet was never warm enough, and I don't need things very hot.I think the macaroni and cheese might have been good if warmer- but it just seemed so so, but maybe hot it would have been tasty. The seafood casserole was never warm enough. Salads were fine, though brussels sprout slaw was not that great. We all agreed the stuffing was too salty to eat, turkey somewhat tasteless. The royal bleu glassware, fish flatware and candles were lovely (though the candles was never lit during our dinner. The front room where we dined with all windows facing the street was lovely. We had been given rave reviews on this place by a friend- but not for a Thanksgiving meal.
